Tree pruning & trimming

Tree pruning is important to the life of an urban tree. Trees that are too top heavy or over sized need proper thinning or reducing of foliage. You can protect the life of the tree by reducing hazards of structurally weak or damaged limbs. Spiral pruning or wind firming thins the branches allowing wind to move through the tree instead of creating a sail effect. These practices can help the tree not shed branches or fall over in a high wind situation.

Tree Reductions

Reduction pruning is most often used when a tree has grown too large for its permitted space. Or an overgrown hedge to be reduced in height. Sometimes the tree grows into utility wires, buildings, or other trees creating hazardous situations.

Fruit trees

Pruning for fruit trees & ornamental trees should be done during the winter months to early spring when the sap isn't flowing. Proper tree pruning can be used to create a well balanced tree that will produce superior flowers and fruit.

hedge trimming & shaping

Hedge trimming is very important to keep your hedge looking healthy. New hedges require formative pruning for their first couple of years after planting. After this, maintance trimming is carried out, usually once to three times a year. Established hedges require trimming to keep them dense and compact.

stump grinding

We use our state of the art stump grinding machine to grind the stump below ground level. The wood chips can either be left in a mound over the cavity after grinding, or for an additional charge, can be removed from the site. Once completed, soil and sod can be used to cover where the tree once stood.

crane removals

In some cases crane removals are necessary due to the size and danger of a tree. In some cases, the speed and efficiency of cranes can make it the most cost effective option to get the job done.

Sometimes we use cranes to assist in difficult tree removals.
